RMA exits GHSA to join GISA

By AccessWDUN Staff

GAINESVILLE — Riverside Military Academy will return to the Georgia Independent School Association.

The school announced its plans on Friday to join more than 10 private schools across the state in the exit from the Georgia High School Association.

“We are very excited about the transition back to GISA and look forward to the opportunities for growth in all of our sports programs from the middle school to the varsity level,” said interim athletic director Mark DeFoor. "The decision to return to GISA was made with our student athletes’ best interests in mind. GISA will allow them to compete against peer schools while upholding the mission, vision, and values of the Academy."
