Gainesville man convicted in sexual assault on 7-year-old girl

A Gainesville man has been convicted in Hall County Superior Court on multiple criminal counts involving the sexual assault of a young girl. 

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said Frank Anthony "Tony" Jaworski, 42, was convicted Thursday, Dec. 2 of aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated child molestation, four counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes. A jury handed down the convictions following a four-day trial. 

The victim in the case was 7-years-old, according to Darragh.

"This case was one of the first cases to go to trial since the District Attorney’s Office launched its Special Victims Unit in October," Darragh said in an email statement. 

The jury trial took place before visiting Senior Superior Court Judge Joe C. Bishop. Bishop will sentence Jaworski at a later date.

Darragh said Senior Assistant District Attorney Harold Buckler and Assistant District Attorney Patrick Shuler prosecuted the case. The case was investigated by Craig Hannula of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Jaworski was represented by Brock Johnson and Kyle Denslow.
