Police search for a suspect in Gwinnett County bank robberies

By AccessWDUN staff

Two separate bank robberies have Gwinnett County Police searching for a man who is believed to be responsible for both.

Although two different BB&T’s were robbed, surveillance cameras have caught the same suspect in both incidents.

According to Gwinnett County Police Corporal Ryan Winderweedle, on November 3 an older, white male pointed a firearm at a BB&T bank teller inside the BB&T at 3400 Buford Drive and handed over a note demanding money.

On Wednesday, November 10, the same man entered the BB&T Bank at 4394 Buford Drive and showed the teller a similar note demanding money. He did not show a firearm in this robbery.

Police said the suspect got away with $2,400 in total. Police are hoping someone will recognize an image of the man caught on surveillance and be able to identify him.

Anyone with information can call Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300. To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.stopcrimeATL.com.
