FLOWERY BRANCH — Flowery Branch scored quick and often en route to a 62-20 win over East Hall at Falcon Field on Friday.
After going up 7-0 on a four-yard Myles Ivey touchdown run, the Falcons (7-3, 4-2 Region 8-4A No. 3 seed) scored 21 points in 3:30 minutes to blow open the game, 28-7 in the opening period.
Jeremiah Ware provided some fireworks, in the quarter, when he returned a kickoff into a 90-yard touchdown. Malik Dryden also scored on a one-yard run, and Ivey added his second touchdown on a 14-yard run with 4:37 left in the first.
East Hall's (1-9, 0-6 Region 8-4A) touchdown in the first was a three-yard run from Kahlil Jackson.
The Branch flurry didn't stop in the second half as David Renard tossed three touchdown passes, including a 29-yard and a 54-yard to Seth Larson and an 11-yard pass to Dryden. Ivey also added to his touchdown collection with a five-yard scoring run.
The Falcons were well in control by halftime time up 55-14.
East Hall's Clete Cooper tossed two touchdowns to Darius Holcomb (80 yards and 28 yards) -- one in the second and one in the fourth.
Flowery Branch will be the No. 3 seed and will be on the road in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs next week.
