Habersham County HR Director fired

By AccessWDUN staff
Earlier this week, the Habersham County Manager's Office announced the termination of Vinitha Robinson as Human Resources Director.

Robinson's termination was announced Tuesday, Nov. 2, and per terms of her contract her official termination date is Dec. 2, 2021. The county immediately placed Robinson on paid leave.

The announcement said Robinson's final paycheck - including a lump sum for 90 days of aggregate salary, three months for expense allowance, accrued annual leave and three months for employee’s cost of COBRA continuation -  will be paid out on Dec. 10, 2021.

"We wish Mrs. Robinson the best in her future endeavors and are fully cooperating to fulfill the terms of her contract in the coming days," said Interim County Manager Alicia Vaughn in the prepared statement.

Habersham County Public Information Officer Carolyn Gibson said Robinson's contract allowed for her termination without cause.

Gibson declined comment on a discrimination lawsuit Robinson has filed against the county.
