One person was taken to the hospital after a train struck a tractor trailer in Barrow County Sunday.
The collision happened at Atlanta Highway at Bankhead Highway Crossing, according to Captain Scott Dakin with Barrow County Emergency Services.
Crews received numerous emergency calls about the incident. When crews arrived they found a tractor trailer had been struck by the locomotive, and the tractor portion was on its side with a small diesel fuel leak. The trailer portion was also on its side, several feet down Atlanta Highway. The crossing arm of the tracks was also struck down in the incident.
Crews remained on scene for several hours while it was being cleared.
