Buford High School is mourning the loss of one of it’s students after a tragic vehicle accident Monday night.
The accident occurred in Buford around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Blvd and Little Mill Road, but police have not released any further details.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the victim has been named as Aaron Kirkland, a junior on the school’s wrestling team.
On a Facebook post by "Buford Wolves Wrestling," the student was identified, along with a heartfelt message of prayers for friends and family. “One of our family was fatally injured in a car accident last night. Aaron Kirkland was a junior. He placed 4th in state last year. He was loved and missed by all.”
A GoFundMe page says that Kirkland was killed just three days before his seventeenth birthday. The webpage says that any funds raised will go toward his memorial service and to help the family.
