FLOWERY BRANCH — Cherokee Bluff held West Hall to zero-yards rushing and just 125 total yards in a 37-7 win in Region 7-3A action at Bears Stadium on Friday.
The Bears (6-0, 2-0 Region 7-3A) also got another huge game from senior running back Jayquan Smith, who had his fourth 100-yard game of the season, with 161 yards and one touchdown, a 50-yarder in the second quarter.
Bluff senior quarterback Sebastian Irons passed for 63 yards but tossed a pair of touchdown passes of 13 and 39 yards to Marlion Jackson. Senior Brayden Nance also scored on touchdown runs of 6 and 2-yards for the Bears.
Cherokee Bluff led 37-0 in the fourth quarter before West Hall (2-3, 0-2 Region 7-3A) got its only score on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Nick Sturm to Byron Brevil late in the game.
Both teams will stay in Region 7-3A play next week as the Spartans will play host to White County. Cherokee Bluff will play host to Lumpkin County.
