Some parts of extreme North Georgia could see snow accumulations overnight as a storm system moves through the area.
The areas affected are mainly above 1,500 feet in Fannin, Towns, Union and White counties, according to a statement from the National Weather Service. The highest peaks could see up to 2 inches of snow, while a half inch is possible at lower elevations.
The weather service is urging motorists to be aware of minor impacts, including slick roadways and icy elevated surfaces.
Other parts of Northeast Georgia may see brief snow showers, but they won't last long and there will be no accumulation, the weather service said.
