Choice enrollment for Gainesville City Schools opens beginning February 1.
Parents will enroll their students online at the school system's website. Click the Students & Parents Tab and select Student Registration and Enrollment.
The Pre-K Lottery runs from February 1 to February 23. The lottery drawings with take place February 24.
Parents of Kindergarten students will need to upload multiple documents in the online portal for their student to enroll, including a birth certificate, immunization form, eyes and dental certificate, social security card, and two proofs of residency. Parents will also need to upload their own ID.
Anyone wishing to enroll their child in grades 1 through 11 must do so online between February 1 and February 19. Similar documentation to Kindergarten students registering will be needed for new students.
Those currently enrolled in grades Pre-K through Grade 4 will bring home a form to parents on February 1. Parents need to complete and return the forms by February 19.
Non-Gainesville Residents will need to complete the non-resident enrollment form online between February 1 and February 19, including the Tuition/Contract of Agreement Application. Non-resident students wishing to enroll should not be withdrawn from their current school until official acceptance.
Non-resident parents will need to upload a transcript for high school aged students, current report card for elementary and middle school aged students, attendance records and behavior records.
Acceptance and denial letters will be mailed on February 26.
School system officials remind parents that transportation is only provided with the student's assigned cluster, and resident students will be counted for classroom space ahead of non-resident students.
