By AccessWDUN Staff

A trio of area teams picked up wins on makeup game Thursday.

Averie Jones scored a game-high 34 points to lead fourth-ranked Lumpkin County (17-4, 8-1 Region 7-3A) past Cherokee Bluff (6-16, 1-8 Region 7-3A), 71-34, and remain at the top of the Region 7-3A standings with White County. Mary Mullinax added 15 points, and McKenzie Caldwell chipped in 14.

In Rabun Gap, Gracie Deetz poured in 25 points in Class 2A No. 3-ranked Rabun County's win over Rabun Gap in a non-region contest, 75-57. Sophie Woodard netted 19 points for the Lady Wildcats (14-4).

And in Jefferson, the No. 1-ranked Lady Dragons (16-3, 8-0 Region 8-4A) stormed past Chestatee, 76-31, to sweep the series. The War Eagles (9-11, 2-6 Region 8-4A) battled Jefferson to an overtime loss on Jan. 5, but couldn't get the offense rolling in Game 2.
