After de-committing from South Carolina earlier this month, Rabun County's Gunner Stockton is headed to the University of Georgia

The five-star junior quarterback made the announcement via his Twitter account on Thursday.

On January 12, Stockton released a statement on Twitter on his decision to de-commit from South Carolina.

"After much discussion and prayer with my family, I have decided to de-commit from the University of South Carolina," Stockton said on Twitter. "Back in August, I made the decision to commit to the university, program and staff. A lot has changed since that time, and I feel that I should re-evaluate my situation. I want to thank Connor Shaw for all of his love, support and understanding. Please no interviews at this time."

247sports.com had Stockton leaning toward Auburn because of his relationship with new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

As a junior, Stockton led the Wildcats to the semifinals of the Class 2A playoffs before losing to Callaway 41-17 on the road. He finished the 2020 campaign 213 of 317 passing for 3,128 yards and 45 touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,581 yards on 191 carries and 26 scores.
