A Gainesville woman has been arrested after she reportedly shot and wounded a relative during an argument this week.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said Renisha Sharda Davenport, 28, faces a charge of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting, which happened Tuesday morning.
"Davenport shot the 34-year-old-victim at her residence in the 3000 block of Harmony Church Road," said Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth in an email statement. "Deputies responded to [a phone] call just before noon and located the injured man outside of the home."
After calling for Hall County Fire Services to treat the victim, investigators were able to talk with Davenport and another woman inside the residence who had placed the call to authorities.
They were able to determine the victim had come to the house and became involved in an argument with Davenport. During the argument, she shot the man in the shoulder.
"The caller took the handgun from Davenport. Both women remained at the home while deputies responded and were cooperative with the investigation," Booth said.
Booth described the man's injuries as non-life threatening.
Davenport remained in the Hall County at last check. The Hall County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
