GDOT: Lane closures planned this week in area of new Browns Bridge

By B.J. Williams

Travelers who plan to use Browns Bridge Road (SR 369) over Lake Lanier at the Forsyth-Hall County line next week may run into some delays. The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced plans to pour concrete on Monday and Tuesday for the construction of a new two-lane bridge.

GDOT crews plan to set up single-lane closures from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. both days, according to a media statement from the agency. The lane closures will be in place between Mile Post 19 in Forsyth County and Mile Post 1 in Hall County.

The work will be done as long as the weather permits.

GDOT is asking motorists to plan ahead for delays. They also need to be aware that they need to reduce their speeds as they approach the work zone.
