By Regan Spinks, AccessWDUN Staff

Applications for various scholarships from Jackson County Community Outreach (JCCO) are now open to Jackson County high school graduates.

JCCO will award a total of $25,000 in scholarships to graduates in four separate categories. Nine applicants will be chosen to receive JCCO Traditional Regular Scholarships, which total $1,000 each, while six applicants will receive JCCO Tech College Industrial Scholarships of $2,000. In addition, one graduate will receive the Tom Lewis Leadership Scholarship of $1,500 and one will receive the Jim Scott Visionary Scholarship of $2,500.

Scholarship applications are available at www.jccoscholarships.org/online-application/. Specific requirements for each scholarship are listed on the site.

Interested students must complete the scholarship form and turn in a printed copy to their high school counselor by Friday, March 12, along with the required recommendation letter and proof of college acceptance. Students selected for a final selection interview will be notified on or before Friday, March 26. Interviews will be scheduled for the week of April 19 and will be held in a virtual format this year due to COVID-19.

Scholarships will be awarded at each school’s honors and awards ceremony at the end of the school year.
