A Buford man was arrested Thursday evening by Hall County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and is facing cruelty to children charges after he reportedly injured his infant son.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, an investigation determined that 34-year-old Bryan Oswaldo Morales caused fractures to both of the baby’s legs.

The release states the incident happened on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Morales’ home in the 5,000 block of Magnolia Way in Buford.

Investigators believe Morales was home alone with the baby on Wednesday. When the baby’s mother returned home Wednesday evening, she took the baby to the emergency room after seeing him in distress, according to the release.

Investigators were first informed about the injuries on Thursday when they were notified by the Hall County Division of Family and Children Services that the baby was being treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Morales is charged with one count each of first and second-degree cruelty to children and remained in the Hall County Jail Friday afternoon without bond.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
