Page makes it five straight Ice Bowl wins at Talladega Short Track

By Brandon Reed Reporter

You can now call Michael Page “Mr. Five Time.”

The Douglasville, Georgia speedster edged out a tight field of competitors in Sunday’s Ice Bowl XXX at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama to score his fifth consecutive win in the event.

The win was worth a cool $6,000 for Page, and adds to his all-time win total in the Ice Bowl. No other driver has won the event more than three times.

After starting on the front row, Page followed Sam Seawright for the first 20 laps of the 50 lap feature. On lap 21, Page moved to the point, and held the top spot the rest of the way en route to the victory.

A trio of cautions slowed the event on lap 34, starting when a spin brought out the yellow flag. The other two cautions followed on the ensuing restarts.

Unofficially, Seawright finished in second, with Dallas Cooper in third, Randy Weaver in fourth and Dillon Tidmore in fifth.

Chris Jones, David Brannon, Justin Owens, Scott Crigler and Shun Thomas rounded out the unofficial top 10.
