Softball: Jefferson takes 8-4A win; North Hall falls in 7-3A

GAINESVILLE — Ravyn Saxon and Camoreea Hart combined on a seven-hit shutout to lead Jefferson to a 9-0 win over East Hall on Monday in Region 8-4A action at East Hall Park.

Saxon allowed five hits and zero runs over four innings. Hart threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Lady Dragons.

Mac Turner got things started for Jefferson doubling in a run as part of a two-run second. The Lady Dragons added a run in the fourth and two in the fifth before putting the game out of reach with four runs in the seventh.

In the seventh, Taylor Spivey tripled in a run and Paige Kelly and Abby Beatty both singled in runs.

The Lady Dragons pounded out 14 hits in the game with Turner, Kelly, Savannah Smith, Emma Kate Sorrells, and Spivey all collecting multiple hits

Abi Mullins had two hits for East Hall.


GILMER 6,
NORTH HALL 1

Gilmer scored five unanswered runs to take a Region 7-3A win over North Hall on Monday.

The Lady Bobcats scored a run in the second but North Hall tied the game on a Sam Rooker solo homer.

But Gilmer pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. The Lady Bobcats added single runs in the fourth and sixth.

Bre Stowers took the loss for North Hall surrendering six runs on 10 hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Kaylin Peach, Kinsley Kirby, Ashley Callahan, also had one hit each for the Lady Trojans.
