Gwinnett County property tax bills to be mailed by Thursday

By Regan Spinks

Gwinnett County property tax bills will be mailed in batches starting next week.

Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Richard Steele announced Thursday that all 2020 property tax bills will be mailed by Thursday, Oct. 1. Payments are due Dec. 1.

Property owners who signed up for paperless billing will receive their bills immediately upon release via secure email.

Taxpayers will be able to view and pay their bills online as of Sept. 29. Other methods of payment include:

  • Paying via debit card, which incurs a flat $3.95 fee; credit cards and PayPal incur a 2.25 percent fee.
  • Scheduling payments in advance, as long as the total is paid by the due date.
  • Mailing checks to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30046.
  • Dropping off checks 24/7 in drop boxes located at every tag office.
  • Paying in person with cash, check, money order, debit card ($3.95 flat fee) or credit card (2.25 percent fee) during stated business hours at any Gwinnett Tax Commissioner’s Office.

Many changes are reflected in the 2020 property tax bills, according to Steele. Information about these changes and other tax-related items can be found here. For additional information, contact [email protected] or 770-822-8800.
