Gwinnett hosting virtual job fairs for substitute teachers

Gwinnett County Public Schools are hosting a series of virtual job fairs for people interested in substitute teaching.

The first such event was held Wednesday and four more are scheduled through the rest of September. The next one will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. All of the job fairs are being held in Building 200 of the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center on Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee.

Applicants will need to complete an online application and provide a reference, a college diploma or transcripts and complete the county's substitute teacher training program if they do not already have a teaching certificate. Anyone attending must also wear a face mask.

The dates for the remaining job fairs are listed below:

  • Monday, September 21 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 30 at 6:00 p.m.

Compensation for substitute teachers in the county ranges from $98 to $120 per day.
