-- NOTABLE: East Hall leads series 11-10. The Vikings won 24-7 in 2015. After East Hall won four straight from 2003-06, the Spartans have won 5 of the last 9 meetings. ... The Spartans had an up-and-down opener against the Panthers last week. They struggled most of the game on offense but used a 5-minute, 18-points barrage, sparked by a pair of defensive safeties, to grab the lead. But they were shut out the rest of the way as the Jackson County offense wore down the defense in the 2nd half. ... The Vikings defense was one of the most porous in the area in 2019 (42.7 ppg) and made some slight changes in the offseason. Expect the Spartans to be able to find some success after adjustments from their opener. ... But the key to this one will be if the Spartans defense can stop a bigger, more experienced Clete Cooper and an explosive East Hall offense. The now-So. QB threw for nearly 2,500 yards (tops in Class 3A) and will have returning WR/RBs in Mon Taber and Macere Walker.
