GAINESVILLE — Lanier Christian Academy rebounded from a season-opening loss with a dominating 30-0 win over Holy Spirit Prep Friday night at Cabbell Field.
The Lightning (1-1) blew open a close game with 14-second quarter points for a 22-0 halftime lead. They added one third-quarter score for the final points as the defense pitched the fourth shutout in program history.
Senior running back Isaiah Williams led the way with 70 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries for the game.
Senior quarterback Andrew Perry, however, had a game. On offense rushed for a score and passed for another. But it as on defense where he dominated with two interceptions and a forced a fumble, which he recovered and returned 60 yards for another TD. All of his scores came in the first half.
