A Gillsville man is arrested for kidnapping after a domestic dispute

A Gillsville man has been arrested on kidnapping charges after a domestic dispute. Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to a home on Hawthorn Drive after a 911 call about a man pointing a gun at a woman and three children. When officers arrived, they heard a gunshot and saw a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck quickly leaving the property. The driver, Alan Molina-Garcia, age 29, drove past the deputies, despite them ordering him to stop. Officers activated emergency equipment and followed the vehicle, but Molina-Garcia had already stopped in the road a short distance from the home where he was arrested.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into the incident later revealed that Molina-Garcia was intoxicated and had gotten into a dispute with the female victim. He grabbed her, pulled her from home and forced her down the porch onto the driveway, resulting in the kidnapping charges. He also loaded a handgun and pointed it at the female and three children, all under the age of 14 years old. The woman and children were able to escape, run into the house and lock the door, as well as call authorities.

The woman suffered some minor scrapes and marks and none of the children were injured.

Molina-Garcia is charged with aggravated assault, battery under the Family Violence Act, DUI alcohol, first-degree cruelty to children, kidnapping, laying drag or reckless conduct with auto and reckless conduct.

The case is still under investigation.
