Donald McIntosh takes Southern All Stars victory at I-75

By Series PR

Donald McIntosh outlasted the rain and the competition to score the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series victory on Saturday night at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee.

The Dawsonville, Georgia native inherited the lead on lap 18 when fast qualifier David Crabtree exited the race with mechanical problems. From there, McIntosh led the final 32 laps en route to the win and a $5,000 payday.

Mother Nature delayed the racing program slightly at the start of the night, but once the rains moved out, 28 Super Late Model drivers went to work.

The scariest moment of the night came on lap 7 of the 50 lap feature, when Riley Hickman’s car hit the inside of turn 4, sending it barrel rolling before landing on all four tires. Hickman was uninjured.

David Webb finished in second, with Tyler Millwood in third, Jason Hiett in fourth and Jason Manley in fifth.

Logan Roberson, Josh Richerson, Mark Dodson, Hudson O’Neal and Billy Franklin rounded out the top 10.
