By B.J. Williams

A 27-year-old Arkansas man died Saturday from injuries he sustained in a wreck in North Georgia earlier in the month.

The Georgia State Patrol reported the accident happened around 6:40 the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 12.

SFC Curtis Bradshaw, the Commander of GSP Post 37 in Cumming said Cody O'Shea Taylor from Magnolia, Arkansas, was trying to make a left turn from Georgia 400 northbound onto Settingdown Road.

"A Ford F-250, driven by 60-year-old Lloyd Keith Parker from Dawsonville, GA, was traveling south on SR 400 in the right travel lane. A Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 24-year-old Shelby Taylor Kuehl from Gainesville, GA, was stopped on Settingdown Road in the eastbound right turn lane waiting to turn right onto SR 400," Bradshaw said in an email statement. "Mr. Taylor in the GMC Sierra failed to yield while attempting to turn left onto Settingdown Road and traveled into the path of Mr. Parker in the Ford F-250."

Bradshaw said the front of the F-250 hit the right side of Taylor's vehicle and pushed it into a ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection. The F-250 then hit the side of Kuehl's vehicle.

Taylor was seriously injured and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. He died from his injuries on Saturday, Aug. 22, according to Bradshaw.

Kuehl sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment. Parker was not injured.

"Mr. Parker and Ms. Kuehl both reported that southbound traffic on SR 400 had a green light at the time of the crash," Bradshaw said.

The Georgia State Patrol will file no charges in the crash.
