Two suspects have been apprehended, but three others remain at large, following a shooting-related manhunt in Gainesville Monday evening.
The Gainesville Police Department says the search followed reports of a shooting incident at the Spring Valley apartments, located off Thompson Bridge Road.
"As officers arrived to the area, a suspect vehicle was identified," the department said in an online post. "Officers attempted to stop the vehicle involved in the home invasion but the suspect vehicle attempted to flee, crashing in the area of Hollywood Avenue and Hollywood Circle."
Five suspects fled the crash site on foot, although one was taken into custody after being apprehended a short distance from the scene.
Police said the remaining four suspects then stole a boat from a dock near Harbor Cove, located off Honeysuckle Road.
"The stolen boat was recovered in the boat dock area of Club Drive, and 1 additional suspect was apprehended near that location," the post said. "The investigation is active at this time."
Anyone with informaton related to the case, or sees any suspicious activity, is asked to call 911.

Gainesville police are conducting a search after an unknown number of suspects fled the scene of a car accident on Monday evening.
The initial search led to Hollywood Avenue being shut down in the area of Hollywood Circle, according to an online post made by the Gainesville Police Department.
Inquiries made to the department requesting additional information had received no response at the time of publication.
Any individuals who see any suspicious activity are being asked to call 911.
