A house that caught fire in the Flowery Branch area Monday afternoon was hit by lightning, according to Hall County Fire Services Division Chief Zachary Brackett.
Brackett said firefighters were called to the scene on Radford Road around 4:20 p.m. as storms were passing over the area.
"Arriving units found a 1,500-square-foot home with heavy black smoke pushing from the attic," Brackett said. "The fire was brought under control around 5 p.m."
Brackett said no one was home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported to firefighters who knocked down the blaze.
