Brandon Overton went undefeated in the Peach State, as the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nations Series competed in four events over the weekend in Georgia.
Overton recorded wins at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway on Thursday night, Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia on Friday night, Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia on Saturday night and Georgia’s Cochran Motor Speedway on Sunday night.
Overton took a total of $27,106 home to Evans, Georgia for his efforts over the weekend.
On Thursday night, Overton zipped past Chris Madden in the closing stages at Senoia Raceway to capture the victory.
Overton used a good launch on the final restart to battle on the high side with Madden for two laps before finally taking the lead on lap 31. From there, Overton drove on to the victory.
Madden finished in second, with Steven Roberts in third, Michael Page in fourth and Joseph Joiner in fifth.
On Friday night, Overton used an outside move on Dawsonville, Georgia’s Donald McIntosh with 16 laps to go, and went on to the win at Needmore Speedway.
McIntosh had a comfortable lead until getting caught in slower traffic on lap 33. Overton closed on McIntosh’s back bumper, and made a gutsy outside pass to take the lead on lap 37.
Overton went on to the victory, while McIntosh limped home in second after suffering a flat right-rear tire on the final lap.
John Baker finished in third, with Michael Page in fourth and Pearson Lee Williams in fifth.
On Saturday night, Overton dominated the 53-lap feature at Screven Motor Speedway.
Overton jumped to the lead from the drop of the green flag, and never looked back en route to the victory.
While Overton led the way, drivers battled for position behind him. In the end, it was
Mark Whitener finishing second, with Ross Bailes third, Chris Madden fourth and Cla Knight fifth.
On Sunday night, Overton passed second place driver Chris Madden on lap one, then took the lead away form Ross Bailes on lap five en route to the victory at Cochran Motor Speedway
It marked Overton’s 18th career series win.
Madden, Bailes, Michael Page and John Baker rounded out the top five.
