Sullivan nabs first career FASTRAK Victory at Toccoa

By Wesley Outland

TOCCOA, Ga. - Layton Sullivan made the wait for the 65th season of racing at Georgia’s Toccoa Raceway worth it.

Sullivan bypassed David McCoy in lap traffic in the final corner on the last lap to score the FASTRAK Racing Series victory at the historic 5/16-mile dirt track on Saturday night.

It marks Sullivan’s first career series win, and was worth a $2,000 payday.

McCoy has the lead, but was mired in lap traffic, allowing Layton to close on his back bumper. On the final lap, Matt Glandon was working to hold his line, stacking the leaders up three-wide as the white flag flew in the air.

Sullivan was able to use Glandon’s car as a pick to move around McCoy, and moved on to the win and a trip to Toccoa’s victory lane.

McCoy finished in second, with Frankie Beard in third, Matt Long in fourth and Nick Schlager in fifth.

Michael Brown, Ricky Smith, Matt Glanden, Justin Wofford and Greg Parton rounded out the top ten.
