18 year old arrested in armed robbery in Athens IHOP parking lot

An 18 year old was charged in connection to a robbery at in the IHOP parking lot on Baxter Street in Athens over the weekend.

Jordan Hill, 18, of Athens, was stopped by Athens-Clarke County Police shortly after midnight on June 27. He was driving a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle description, a white Ford Fusion, according to a release from the department.

Officers reportedly smelled marijuana when they pulled Hill over, and determined Hill matched the robbery suspect description and detained him. The press release stated officers were able to link Hill to the robbery and drug offense with evidence found in the vehicle.

Athens-Clarke County Police arrested Hill on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, theft by receiving stolen property (a handgun), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony crime.
