By AccessWDUN Staff
Hall County's administrative offices, courts, community centers, animal shelter and libraries will be closed July 3 and 4 to observe the Independence Day federal holiday.

Essential public safety and public works personnel will continue service as usual during the holiday, according to information released Thursday by county officials. The Hall County Recycling Center will be closed on Friday, July 3 and the Hall County Landfill will be closed on Saturday, July 4; however, compactor sites will remain open throughout the holiday weekend.

In addition, the annual Fourth of July fireworks display at Laurel Park has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The health and safety of Hall County citizens, visitors and employees is, as always, the first priority of Hall County Government," Assistant Hall County Administrator Marty Nix said. "We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we work diligently with community partners to ensure we are making the most prudent decisions when it comes to keeping the public safe and well."

Laurel Park and Cherokee Bluffs Park will close at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.

Members of the public utilizing the County's parks during the holiday weekend are reminded that personal fireworks in the parks are prohibited. Signage will also be in place at Hall County parks, reminding visitors to follow social distancing guidelines and other best practices as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of Georgia and the White House.

Also, the Hall County Government Family Health Center will close at noon on July 3 and will remain closed on July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Many county services are always available online: residents can renew a vehicle tag, find a new pet, pay taxes, and more at hallcounty.org.
