Former UGA football standout charged with sexual assault

A former Bulldog football standout was arrested Monday night in Athens, accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a local apartment complex.

Bacarri Rambo, 29, of Athens was in the Clarke County Jail without bond, according the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

The Athens Banner Herald reports the female victim, a 21-year-old University of Georgia student, contacted another male to pick her up and reportedly told him she had been raped and that her attacker lived at the Georgia Heights Apartments, as well as the victim reporting she knew her attacker and showed a social media account with Rambo's name associated with it.

Rambo faces a charge of rape, the Herald reported. The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday.

Rambo was an All-American safety for the University of Georgia from 2009 to 2012. He went on to play in the NFL for five seasons, on the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Redskins. He also served on the UGA support staff for the past two seasons.
