A Gainesville caretaker is accused of making personal charges to an elderly client's credit card.
On May 26, the Hall County Sheriff's Office got a call that a caretaker of an elderly man had been using the victim's credit card for her own purchases. The victim was the patient's 83-year-old wife. She told deputies the caretaker had access to the card to buy groceries for them but discovered fraudulent charges when reviewing her bank statement for the month of April.
Ashley Caroline Ferguson, 42, was arrested on May 29 and was released on $26,000 bond that day. The Sheriff's Office released the information about the case on Monday. The case is ongoing, and the dollar amount and other details of the case, remain under investigation.
