A Gainesville man has been arrested on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography after an investigation by the GBI.
In a release, the GBI said 43-year-old Billy Eller was arrested Friday and is currently being held in the Hall County Jail. He faces two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of distribution of child pornography.
The GBI said Eller obtained and distributed the material via a social media application. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified Homeland Security Investigations about the case and they assisted the GBI with the investigation.
The investigation was part of the GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Anyone with information on the case or any other child exploitation cases is asked to contact the GBI at 404-270-8870.
