Members of the National Guard are assisting in monitoring entrances at a Lavonia hospital.
“You may notice members of the Georgia National Guard at the entrances of our facility,” a social media post from St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia states. “We want you to know that the National Guard has been deployed to hospitals across the state to provide assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
While in many locations, Guard personnel are assisting with sanitizing and cleaning, in Lavonia they are assisting in other ways.
“They have been asked to help our colleagues in monitoring our entrances and assisting our screening teams as we continue to institute our restricted visitor policy,” the social media post states. “We thank the State of Georgia for making this resource available and the National Guard for their assistance and support to our hospital.”
