Georgia Mountain Food Bank, District 2 Public Health partner for COVID-19 relief event

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Georgia Mountain Food Bank and District 2 Public Health will partner this week on a day-long event for coronavirus relief in Hall County.

On Friday, May 1, the two agencies will be at Allen Creek Soccer Complex at 2500 Allen Creek Road in Gainesville.

The Georgia Mountain Food Bank will distribute food to residents. One package of food will be given to each car that drives in at the lower field at the soccer complex. The distribution will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. or until supplies run out.

In addition, public health officials will be on hand to assist anyone who is sick to register for an appointment for free testing for COVID-19. However, they say if you are sick now, you should not wait until Friday to make an appointment. Instead, call 770-531-5600 to schedule an appointment for free testing. The call center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
