Clipper Petroleum Foundation donates $40K to non-profit groups in light of pandemic demands

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Clipper Petroleum Foundation has awarded $40,000 in unrestricted grants to five different North Georgia non-profits in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The five non-profits are The Georgia Mountain Food Bank in Gainesville, Straight Street Ministries Backpack Love in Gainesville, The Good News Clinic in Gainesville, White County BackPack Buddies in Cleveland and Oconee Area Resource Council in Wakinsville.

Haley Bower, Clipper Petroleum Foundation director, said the five charities were selected because they serve the community by providing food and/or medical services. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hunger crisis in the community has been more prevalent and medical needs are imperative right now, according to a statement from the Foundation.

"Given the challenges and unprecedented demand that these organizations are having due to COVID-19, our board was compelled to take action," said Bower.

The Clipper Petroleum Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity founded in 2013 with its main mission to impact and support the local communities where Clipper Petroleum and its affiliates do business.
