Gwinnett schools announce changes amid digital learning

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

Gwinnett County Public Schools are moving to a four-day school week starting April 13.

The move comes as school systems across Georgia adapt to digital learning amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Gwinnett schools announced the change in a release Saturday.

The four-day school week is similar to one announced recently by Hall County schools. No new assignments on Fridays through May 8. The school year is scheduled to end on May 20.

The school system also announced that previously scheduled graduation ceremonies will not be held. Instead, virtual ceremonies will be held in May with possible live ceremonies in July if conditions allow.
