If you’re suffering through quarantine alone or just want a snuggly companion, the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is hosting a Clear the Shelter adoption event this weekend.

Beginning March 26th until March 28th all available adult dogs and cats one-year-old and older will have an adoption fee of just $19. Fifty puppies are also available; their adoption fees range from $200-$250.

Adoptions during the event are by appointment only. Potential adopters can view a full list of available animals and schedule an appointment at HSNEGA.org/adopt. Adoptions can be scheduled between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

“Our goal is to find good homes for as many animals as possible before we close to the public next week to comply with the state and health official COVID-19 guidelines,” said HSNEGA Executive Director Julie Edwards in a press release.

The event will take place in the parking lot outside the HSNEGA Adoption Center, which is located at 845 West Ridge Road, Gainesville, Ga 30501.

Edwards said she is incredibly grateful for the response from the community so far and mentioned that anyone who is interested in fostering can still sign up to do so until 5 p.m. Friday.
