Gainesville lawmaker reports he's in good health despite possible exposure to virus

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

State Sen. Butch Miller of Gainesville says he is in "good health" following the recent revelation that Sen. Brandon Beach (R – Alpharetta) has received test results confirming his diagnosis of the novel coronavirus.

Miller, the President-Pro Tem of the Georgia Senate, added "Sen. Beach is a friend and a respected member of our body, and those of us who know him personally recognize that this represents only a temporary setback. Our thoughts remain with Sen. Beach and his family as he continues to recover from this virus and I join the rest of the Senate in lifting him up in prayer and offering our support wherever possible."

Miller says he is continuing to encourage Senate members to follow the recommendations of healthcare officials "and remain in self-quarantine until the incubation window has passed and immediately alert your primary care provider if you begin to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19."

Miller says his office is still open, still receiving calls, "even as we learn to work remotely and from home during this quarantine period.”
