By Brandon Reed Reporter

Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia has announced a cancellation due to COVID-19 concerns.

Track officials at the 3/8-mile clay raceway announced via Facebook just after noon on Friday that Saturday’s season opener would be cancelled, citing “the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic and numerous local cancellations.”

“The welfare and safety of our drivers, fans and staff is most important during this time of uncertainty,” the post read. “Dixie Speedway has a full schedule planned for the 2020 race season and at this time will proceed wit the remaining events as planned.”

The speedway is scheduled to host the American Flat Track Motorcycles on March 28.

We are monitoring the situation with local officials and will provide updates as information becomes available,” the post continued. “As always, we’d like to thank everyone for your patience and continued support.”
