March may roar in like a lion for some, but for many it roars in with the sound of high powered engines.
This weekend marks the opening for several area race tracks and touring series, giving fans their first taste of local motorsports competition for the New Year.
Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway’s 2020 season kicks off on Saturday, March 7, as the ¼-mile clay raceway hosts local division action. For more info, visit WinderBarrowSpeedway.com.
Further north, Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway is also slated to open the 2020 season with a full weekend of racing on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Divisions competing on the 3/8-mile clay raceway include the Southeastern Late Models, 602 Late Models, Modified Street, Stock 8, Modified, Stock 4, Young Guns and Front Wheel Drives. To the south, Georgia’s Senoia Raceway will hold their season opener at the 3/8-mile clay speedway on Saturday, March 7, featuring action from the Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Chargers, Hobby, Mini Stock, Bomber and Hot Shot divisions.
