White County mother charged with murder of toddler daughter

CLEVELAND – A White County mother has been charged with murder, aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the death of her 19-month-old daughter.

Quinn Riley Wood, 21, is charged by the White County Sheriff’s Office and GBI with murder, aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the death of Shyloh Wood, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office identified Wood as the child’s mother.

Deputies and White County Emergency Medical Services were called to a home on Hunter Road, Cleveland, where 19-month-old Shyloh Wood was in distress.

The child was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, where she died, according to the sheriff’s office.

An autopsy was performed at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation State Crime Lab on Friday.

No further details have been released.
