A Gainesville man has been charged with aggravated sodomy dating back to a sexual assault incident from December 2019.
According to Hall County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Derreck Booth, authorities arrested 19-year-old Rolando Galvan on Wednesday.
Booth said the initial investigation began on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, when deputies responded to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center where the victim was being treated.
"During the preliminary investigation, Sheriff’s Office Detectives determined that Galvan performed a sexual act on the adult female victim with force and against her will at a residence in the 3,000 blocks of Byers Ridge Road off of Mountain View Road," Booth said. "Galvan and the victim were at the residence for a small social gathering on the evening of Nov. 30, 2019, and early morning of Dec. 1, 2019."
Galvan was taken into custody without incident Wednesday and transported to the Hall County Jail. The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
