Gainesville gas station sells winning $5M lottery ticket

By AccessWDUN Staff

A Gainesville-area gas station was the sales location of a $5 million winning lottery ticket.

Officials with the Georgia Lottery Corp. said in a press release the winning Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratcher was sold at the Exxon Food Mart at 2808 Gillsville Highway.

The winner claimed the prize Tuesday.

The Millionaire Jumbo Bucks scratcher offers players chances to win a top prize of $5 million, as well as other prizes.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $21.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.9 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
