Hall County roads closed due to heavy rains

By AccessWDUN Staff

Hall County officials have now closed Belton Bridge Road and Bryant Quarter Road due to hazardous conditions caused by heavy rains.

Belton Bridge Road is closed in the area of Pea Ridge Road. Officials say Bryant Quarter Road is closed between Cain and Buffington roads. Earlier Thursday, officials closed Lawson Road in the northern end of the county.

According to Hall County Engineer Kevin McInturff, the roadway will remain closed until further notice.

"There's a heavy stormwater flow and possible damage to the roadway that will need to be repaired," McInturff said. "It's just not safe for motorists at this time."

In addition, Calvary Church Road has been closed between Poplar Springs Church Road and Poplar Springs Road.

McInturff said officials are also keeping an eye on a section of Jim Hood Road in the area of West Fork Little River, which may be closed later if waters continue to rise.
