Community input wanted for the future of Dahlonega's Lake Zwerner

Lumpkin county residents are invited to attend a drop-in event to discuss the future plans of the Yahoola Creek Reservoir Thursday, February 5 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation building.

The design consultant team, Lose Design, that is working on the project will be available to hear community input on the master plan. The Parks and Recreation Department, along with the design team, is hoping to get ideas of what the community would like to see developed on the property that the reservoir, and Lake Zwerner, is located. Residents are encouraged to share ideas, ask questions and participate in the interactive stations that will be provided.

This is the first step in the master planning efforts for the reservoir property, owned by Lumpkin County Government. There will be a number of other public engagement opportunities, as well as an online survey allowing community members to participate in the process.

The project is being spearheaded by the Yahoola Creek Reservoir Committee and working closely with the Lumpkin County Parks and Recreation.
