An autopsy has been scheduled after a man was found dead behind a Gainesville business Sunday.
Gainesville Police Corporal Jessica Van said the adult male was located behind a business in the 1400 block of Browns Bridge Road, near the Harbor Freight and Big Lots, and he appeared to be homeless.
"It was just before 5 p.m., and from what I understand is some individuals in the area were looking to provide food to the homeless," said Van. "I believe that is how one adult male was discovered."
First responders confirmed the man was deceased. "At this time, we don't really know how long he was deceased or any of the details just yet," Van said.
No foul play is expected.
Van said they do know who the man is, but they are not releasing his name until next of kin is notified.
