UPDATE: The video above, sent from the Hall County Sheriff's Office this afternoon, shows the suspect entering the store on the night of the incident.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office is searching for a black male suspect believed to have carried out an armed robbery in Buford last Friday.
The robbery took place at a business on Atlanta Highway in Buford, and, according to Public Information Officer Derreck Booth, took place at around 9:30 p.m.
"Deputies, as well as officers with the Flowery Branch and Gainesville Police Departments responded to the robbery that had just occurred at the Dollar General store near the intersection of Atlanta Highway and GA 347/Friendship Road," Booth said on Monday evening. "Law enforcement secured the scene, but did not locate the male robber."
A police K9 unit was also called to the scene, but was unable to locate the suspect.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect approached two female Dollar General employees while brandishing a handgun, and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of the business' cash.
"The robber is described as a Black man, approximately 25 to 30 years old with buzz cut hair," Booth said. "He was wearing khaki pants, black shoes and a black T-shirt with a Star Wars graphic design. He was also wearing a white COVID mask."
No injuries were reported following the incident.
