FLOWERY BRANCH — According to published reports, recent local standout Chris Williamson, who played at Gainesville High, has been signed by the Atlanta Falcons to their 16-man practice squad.
Williamson, who played college ball at Minnesota, was drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Williamson spent most of the current season on the Giants practice squad.
In his career at Minnesota, Williamson had 96 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two interceptions.
